PFA - via lawyer

Being updated. The page works, but we are still revising it. Treat the figures and deadlines as rough guidance and confirm them with an accountant or the official sources.

You hand the documents to a lawyer, consultant or setup service and they file the case for you. It costs more than doing it yourself, but you just send the documents and sign. For a standard PFA, an online service or an accountant is usually cheaper than a lawyer.

Your options

Online service / accountant. Some services do PFA setup 100% online: you send scanned documents, they prepare the file, file it electronically and send you the documents received from ONRC. It's often the cheapest "with help" option.

Lawyer. A lawyer can represent you at the Trade Register based on a power of attorney. It's more suited to a complex situation: a problematic address, a regulated activity, contracts or legal risk. For a simple PFA, it's usually overkill.

Step by step

Pick the provider. Ask upfront what's included (name reservation, filing, ONRC fees) and the total cost.

Send the brief. Send them what they need: the desired name, the CAEN codes (see CAEN codes, max 5), the professional address, a copy of your ID, the address document (ownership, rental, comodat) and proof of training where applicable.

Read and sign. The provider prepares the documents. Read them carefully and sign what's required, in person or with a qualified digital signature.

Save the details. After registration, keep the CUI and the rest of your details in My Own Company Details.
