.ro domain

A .ro domain makes sense if you want the company to look clearly Romanian and inspire trust with a local audience. You buy it from a registrar (RoTLD or a Romanian hosting / domain company), and the steps are broadly the same as for any domain: you search the name, check if it is free, and pay for it.

In the past I went with international domains through GoDaddy, so for the .ro side I do not have a flow I can recommend from direct experience. The steps below are indicative: the interface differs from registrar to registrar, but the logic stays the same.

The steps, in short

  1. Pick a registrar that sells .ro domains.
  2. Search for the name you want and check if it is free.
  3. Add the domain to the cart and fill in the company details.
  4. Pay and confirm the order.
  5. Turn on auto-renew so you do not lose the domain.

What the steps look like

Searching for a .ro domain at a registrar
Searching for and picking the .ro domain.
Completing the order for a .ro domain

The domain's contact details must be correct and on an email you actually check. That is where you receive expiry notifications and any validation requests.

Next step

Once you have the .ro domain, move on to web hosting. If you want an international brand, see also the international domain.
