Platform verifications

Once you have the site and email on your domain, platforms will ask you, at various points, to prove that you own the domain or to give them public links to certain pages.

There are two types of verification you run into most often:

Verification What it involves
Google site verification You prove you own the domain / site, usually by uploading a file given by Google.
Apple / Google Play links You provide public links to Privacy Policy, Terms and Support / Contact.

Verification shows up in contexts like Google Workspace, Google Search Console, Google Play or Apple Developer. The idea is always the same: the platform wants to be sure the site and domain are yours and that the required pages exist and are accessible.

Next step

Read the two pages above and prepare your Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions early, because you will need public links to them.
